Job Description

BOOST – Building Opportunities On Sustainable Talent is a youth-focused organisation committed to empowering adolescents and young people through employability, entrepreneurship, innovation, digital transformation, climate action and future-ready skills development.

BOOST is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and highly organised Finance and Administration Intern to support the organisation’s financial management, procurement, administration and operational functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

*Finance and Accounting Support*
- Assist with capturing financial transactions in the accounting system and maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Support the preparation of payment vouchers, invoices, receipts and other financial documentation.
- Assist with processing payments and maintaining supporting documentation.
- Support bank, petty cash and mobile money reconciliations.
- Assist with maintaining cashbooks, ledgers, registers and financial filing systems.
- Support the preparation of monthly financial reports, budget tracking reports and expenditure analyses.
- Assist with reviewing programme expenditures against approved budgets.
- Support the preparation and liquidation of staff and programme advances.
- Assist with maintaining accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Support internal and external audit processes by retrieving and organising required documentation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with BOOST financial policies, donor requirements and applicable statutory obligations.

*Procurement and Asset Management*
- Assist with obtaining quotations and preparing procurement documentation.
- Support the maintenance of supplier records and procurement files.
- Assist with preparing purchase requisitions, purchase orders and goods-received documentation.
- Support the maintenance and regular updating of the organisational asset register.
- Assist with asset verification, tagging, movement tracking and inventory management.
- Support the management of office supplies and programme materials.

*Administration and Operations*
- Support general office administration, filing, photocopying, scanning and document management.
- Assist with maintaining organised electronic and physical records.
- Support logistical arrangements for meetings, training activities, workshops and field visits.
- Assist with maintaining staff attendance, leave and administrative records.
- Support travel arrangements and the preparation of related administrative documentation.
- Assist with vehicle administration, including the maintenance of vehicle files, logbooks and fuel records.
- Support the preparation of meeting minutes, administrative reports and correspondence.
- Perform other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related discipline.
- Recent graduates with limited professional experience are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping and financial controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with accounting software will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of procurement, taxation, statutory compliance or donor-funded programme financial management will be an added advantage.
