Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons
•Interpret in court proceedings;
•Act as an intermediary in court proceedings involving minor children or other vulnerable witnesses or litigants;
•Visit prison and police cells with the Magistrates in order to interpret;
•Translate court documents and extra curial statements;
•Compile court statistics;
•Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
The person must possess:
•A Bachelor's degree in Language and Communication, or Media and Societal studies, or any other relevant field approved by the Judicial Service Commission;
•Have an excellent command of English and be fluent in at least two or more indigenous languages
•Working knowledge of Sign Language will be an added advantage;
•Be a person of high integrity.
