Position: Full-time, permanent Teacher of Mathematics and Physics.
Curriculum: Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).
Levels: IGCSE, AS, and A-Level.
Key Purpose: To plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students, ensuring excellent academic outcomes.
Start Date: Immediately
Teaching and Learning:
Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Mathematics and Physics according to the Cambridge syllabus for IGCSE, AS, and A-Level.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including high-achievers and those requiring extra support.
Utilise a variety of teaching methods, including practical experiments and technology, to enhance understanding.
Assessment and Reporting:
Set, mark, and moderate classwork, homework, and formal examinations in line with school and Cambridge standards.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare detailed school reports.
Pastoral Care:
Act as a form tutor, providing academic and pastoral support to a group of students.
Uphold and promote the school's policies on student welfare and safeguarding.
Extracurricular Activities:
Contribute to the school's co-curricular programme, such as coaching a sport or leading a club (e.g., Science Club, Olympiad preparation).
Professionalism:
Collaborate with colleagues in the Science and Mathematics departments.
Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and parent-teacher days.
Degree: A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
Teaching Qualification: A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGDE, B.Ed., QTS).
Experience: Proven experience teaching Mathematics and/or Physics up to A-Level.
Curriculum Knowledge: Demonstrable experience and in-depth knowledge of the Cambridge (CAIE) curriculum and assessment methods.
