Veneer Plant Manager
A vacancy has arisen at a reputable timber company for a suitably qualified candidate for the above position. We are looking for a Plant Manager to drive our Veneer Production.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties
The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The Plant Manager will develop processes that will maximize safety, quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations
• Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
• Coordinate the veneer flows to assist the plant in managing inventories
• Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
• Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
• Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
• Adhere to production schedule and make staffing adjustments as needed to meet production demands.
• Perform other duties as necessary
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
• Diploma in Wood Technology
• BSC degree in Business Management
Work Experience
• At least 5 years relevant experience
• Knowledge of Veneer is an added advantage
• A management qualification is also an added advantage
