Job Description
Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified persons to fill in the following vacancy that has arisen within Croco Holdings group.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Construct and raise slimes dam walls using tailings (slurry) and/or borrow materials in line with approved designs.
• Shape and compact wall lifts to maintain required slope angles and stability.
• Work with plant operators to manage discharge points (spigots) for uniform wall growth.
• Prevent formation of weak zones, soft spots, or uneven loading.
Assist in managing return water systems, paddocks, and penstocks.
Ensure proper drainage and prevent water accumulation near wall edges.
Monitors decant systems and report any malfunction.
Identify hazards such as liquefaction risk, unstable ground, and seepage zones.
Ensure proper use of PPE and safe access routes on the dam.
• Prevent environmental contamination and report spills or breaches immediately.
Qualifications and Experience
Key Skills and Attributes
• Knowledge of tailings dam operations in gold processing.
• Ability to work in wet, unstable, and hazardous conditions.
• Strong awareness of safety and environmental risks.
Teamwork and communication skills.
• Physical endurance and reliability.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum: O-Level or equivalent.
• Experience in gold mining, tailings dam construction, or earthworks preferred
• Basic understanding of slurry behaviour and dam wall construction is an advantage.
• On-site training is typically provided
