Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the above vacancy that has arisen in the Land development department. The successful applicant will report to the Land Development Manager.
• Leads the survey team in the department.
• Planning and conduct site calibrations that achieves accurate horizontal and vertical controls that are a prerequisite to all surveys.
• Manages the Collection and processing of survey data and assesses the quality thereof.
• Produces the work plan for the department based on projects in question.
• Managing the departmental cartography i.e., map production, field layout designs and profiles for drainage and other purposes.
• Planning and coordinating the procurement, use and repairing of survey equipment.
• Manages surveying engineering services on dams, canals and bulky water land bodies, layflat bed/tail drain construction and field levelling both manual and mechanical.
• Manages on the job training for all personnel within the department that is required for more efficiency in service delivery.
• Preparation of survey department annual budget proposal.
• Manages production and updating of maps for both existing and newly developed fields
• Liaison with other departments on mapping out specific areas as needed.
• Coordinating and managing any survey works required outside Chisumbanje estate that includes existing fields in Middle Sabi, Civils (non-Agric jobs), ZBE and Community relations department.
• Providing backup services for both field surveys of existing estate maintenance and land development.
• Degree in Surveying and Geomatics / Civil Engineering with at least 5 years post qualifying experience in surveying or,
• Diploma in Surveying and Geomatics or Civil Engineering with at least 7 years post qualifying experience in survey field.
• Knowledge of GPS, Laser and other basic surveyor instruments.
• Computer design softwares to include model maker, auto-cad, opt surface.
• Computer literacy in MS Office.
• A team player.
• Good communication, supervisory and project management skills.
• Clean class 4 driver’s license.
