Reporting to the Risk Engineer, the main purpose of the job shall be to conduct risk surveys, valuations, claim assessments, enterprise risk management and to offer technical advice to external and internal clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conducting risk surveys for both internal and external clients.
• Performing pre-business acquisition surveys for underwriting risk management and delivering post-loss services in line with survey programs and underwriting requests.
• Carrying out internal pre-renewal valuations for motor and non-motor insurance policies and advising underwriters on the adequacy of sums insured.
• Executing post-loss assessments and compiling comprehensive reports.
• Liaising with the Salvage Committee to ensure effective salvage administration.
• Reviewing assessor reports and providing actionable recommendations.
• Coordinating with panel beaters to monitor the progress of motor vehicle repairs.
• Ensuring all company assets have adequate insurance coverage.
• Assisting the administration department in the maintenance and servicing of company vehicles.
• Conducting Enterprise Risk Management within the Cell Group and for external clients.
• Ensuring all group facilities are properly maintained and that any required repairs are carried out professionally and promptly.
• Technician – Electrical/ Mechanical/ Instruments/ Civil technician
• Diploma in Engineering
• Certificate of Competence in Insurance
• Degree in Engineering will be an added advantage.
• Have at least 2 years of experience as a maintenance practitioner.
• Possess exposure to mining and/or insurance environments, which is an added advantage.
• Exhibit good technical knowledge of insurance principles.
• Demonstrate very good business development skills and a flair for innovation.
• Be articulate with excellent communication skills.
