Job Description
The Centre invites applications from accomplished arbitration professionals for appointment as the Registrar of the Victoria Falls International Arbitration Centre (VFIAC). The incumbent will be a founding Registrar to lead the newly established Victoria Falls International Arbitration Centre.
Duties and Responsibilities

Statutory and Case-Administration Functions
* Head the VFIAC and exercise the powers and functions assigned to the Registrar under S.I. 66 of 2026, the Centre’s rules and other applicable legislation.
* Constitute Arbitral Tribunals and Appeals Tribunals.
* Appoint arbitrators where the parties fail to make the required nominations.
* Direct and oversee the impartial, efficient and timely case management of all arbitrations, appeals, mediations and other proceedings.
Institutional Leadership and Operations
* Lead the operationalisation and strategic development of the VFIAC.
* Develop and enforce robust protocols for confidentiality, conflicts of interest, data protection, records management, cybersecurity and secure handling of case materials.
* Safeguard the independence and neutrality of the VFIAC.
Qualifications and Experience

* Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent legal qualification from a recognised institution.
* Admission or ability to be registered as a legal practitioner, advocate, attorney, barrister, solicitor or attorney in a recognised jurisdiction.
* At least five years’ relevant post-qualification experience, including substantial experience in international commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, complex commercial dispute resolution, adjudicative administration or institutional case management.
* At least five years’ experience in a senior leadership, registrar, counsel, tribunal secretary, case-management or comparable role involving complex disputes.
* Demonstrated knowledge of international arbitration law and practice, tribunal constitution, arbitrator independence and impartiality, procedural fairness, confidentiality and enforcement of awards.
* Postgraduate qualification in international commercial law, arbitration, dispute resolution, financial services law or a related field.
