Post – Radiographer | Full time
Location - Harare
Job Summary
The Radiographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures including general radiography (X-rays) and ultrasound examinations, with particular focus on obstetrics & gynaecology (OB/GYN) and abdominal imaging. The role involves ensuring patient safety, accurate image acquisition, preliminary assessment of findings, and maintaining professional and ethical standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
General Radiography (X-ray)
• Perform routine and specialized X-ray examinations.
• Ensure correct patient identification and positioning.
• Apply radiation protection principles (ALARA).
• Operate and maintain digital radiography equipment.
• Ensure proper image quality before submission for reporting.
• Maintain radiation safety protocols for patients and staff.
Ultrasound
• Perform both male and female pelvic scans (transabdominal ± transvaginal).
• Perform first, second and third trimester scans
• Perform abdominal ultrasound scans, Detect abnormalities such as masses, stones,
obstruction, inflammation, and organ enlargement.
• Perform focused scans where indicated (e.g., trauma assessment).

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications & Requirements
• Diploma or Degree in Radiography.
• Registered with relevant professional regulatory authority.
• Competence in Doppler imaging an added advantage.
• Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience
Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety principles.
• Excellent ultrasound scanning skills.
• Good anatomical and pathological knowledge.
• Pay attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ethical and professional conduct
