Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified and self-driven individuals in one of the leading retail companies in Zimbabwe to fill in the position of a Quality Assurance Manager. The role exists to develop and implement production quality assurance processes, standards, procedures, and systems to ensure the highest level of product quality. The role requires an energetic and proactive individual with strong background in quality control management, production engineering, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering excellence in the food production value chain.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance program to ensure compliance with organization and industry quality standards & regulations.
• Collaborate with the production teams to ensure that quality standards are integrated into the design, development, and production processes.
• Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement in production processes and product quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Lead the engineering and re-engineering process for food processing and production.
• Analyse quality data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance champions, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest level of performance.
• Work closely with suppliers and vendors to establish and maintain quality standards for incoming materials.
• Implement and maintain a robust documentation system for quality processes and procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall quality and efficiency.
• Communicate regularly with senior management on quality performance and initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal person must possess the following:
• Degree/Diploma in Food Science & Technology or related field from a reputable learning institution.
• At least 5 years of experience in quality assurance management in a food processing industry
• Strong knowledge of industry quality standards and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Proven track record of implementing and managing successful quality assurance programs.
