Job Description

Programme Assistant (African Women Leaders Network)

Eligibility criteria
Candidate age: between 18 and 29 throughout the entire duration of their assignment. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Description of task

Under The Overall Supervision Of The Programme Specialist For Women's Political Participation And Leadership And The Direct Supervision Of The Programme Assistant For Gender, Peace And Security, The National UN Volunteer Will Undertake The Following Tasks

Duties and Responsibilities

Provides effective support to the implementation of the Project focusing on the achievement of the following results:
Support the implementation of the Annual Workplan;
Support the development of quarterly reports on programme activities;
Support the development of content for quarterly newsletters;
Assist with updating social media profiles;
Provides administrative support to the Project focusing on achievement of the following results:
Creation of requisitions in Atlas for all travel and procurement planned under the project and within the rules and regulations of the procurement guidelines;
Maintenance of the filing system ensuring safekeeping of confidential materials;
Assist in the organization of and writing minutes of meetings;
Assist in the development of materials for meetings, presentations and work
Compiles, analyses, summarizes data pertaining to the project, maintains records, documents and training plans for the monitoring of project implementation;
Performs other tasks as required
Provide data information and knowledge management support
Assist in the design, development and management of UN Women programme management tracking and monitoring systems as it is related to African Women Leaders Network (AWLN);
Assist in the maintenance of appropriate information and documentation to track/support the AWLN delivery;
Support the preparation of inputs to reports and provide data as needed;
Support the review of documents and identify best practices and challenges related to programme management;
Review and check substantive materials for accuracy as requested.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:
A qualification in Social science, or political science, or peace studies, or international affairs, or law, or gender/women studies and or human rights or other related qualification is required.
Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark:
At least 2 years working experience in gender and women's issues programming;
Previous experience in leadership development and movement building are assets;
Knowledge and experience in using social media and Microsoft Office programmes;
Proficiency in Shona and or Ndebele considered an Asset.
