Supervises production staff and stock monitoring
Manages an effective production function utilizing all relevant resources available and adheres to standards in order to achieve daily production targets.
Establishes production schedules for product mix, volumes and plant capacities to ensure that total production is in dispatch by due time.
Monitors production of products through period evaluations of the output in terms of production plans and the checklists to ensure quality and quantity specifications are achieved.
Interprets company policy on safety and other aspects to workers ensuring that such policy is upheld and that all safety standards and regulations are enforced/ maintained.
Manages Unit daily operation activities taking due cognizance of overall objective and skills available in order to contribute to SBU profitability.
Organizes daily workflow delegating activities and assigning responsibility for results, giving regular feedback to motivate staff.
Assists management with performance appraisal of staff, identifying inadequate worthy of further developments to identify appropriate training interventions.
Provides support to staff should any problems arise in order to prevent interruption of work activities thus promoting efficiency in work processes.
Implements and maintains formal and informal conflict resolutions procedures.
Provides regular feedback on activities through formal and informal communication channels to keep both management and staff informed.
Maintains adherence to staff policies and procedures for employment, fair labor practices and other legislated aspects.
Ensures availability of sufficient raw materials, labor and packaging material.
Ensures daily, weekly and monthly reports are submitted timeously.
Liaises with the workshop on the maintenance and repairs to machinery.
Participates in the implementation of improvement projects.
Ensures that equipment runs to rated capacities to increase profitability.
Adheres to and ensures adherence to safety, health and environment regulations and standard procedures.
Supervises and develops subordinates by setting performance targets and identifying training needs.
Ensures all employees in the section have signed job descriptions and performance contracts.
Conducts quarterly/Annual staff performance appraisals/Evaluations.
Performs any other work related duties as assigned by the Superior.
5 “O” levels including English Language and Mathematics/Accounts.
Diploma in Production/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
A relevant professional qualification is an added advantage
At least 2 years’ relevant experience in manufacturing environment.
