Levels Taught: Early Childhood Development (ECD A, ECD B) and Lower Primary (Grade 1-3)
Reporting To: School Principal/Head Teacher
The Preparatory School Teacher is responsible for providing a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children in ECD (Early Childhood Development) and lower primary grades (1-3). The teacher will foster cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through play-based and structured learning activities while adhering to the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
Curriculum Delivery:
Plan, prepare, and deliver interactive lessons tailored to the developmental stages of ECD A, ECD B, and Grades 1-3 students.
Implement a balanced curriculum covering literacy, numeracy, science, social studies, creative arts, and life skills.
Use a variety of teaching methods (play-based learning, storytelling, hands-on activities, etc.) to engage young learners.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment.
Establish and enforce age-appropriate classroom rules and behavior management strategies.
Monitor student progress and provide individualized support where needed.
Assessment & Reporting:
Conduct continuous assessments to track student development.
Prepare progress reports and communicate with parents/guardians on student performance.
Identify learning difficulties and collaborate with support staff (e.g., special needs coordinators) to address them.
Child Development & Well-being:
Foster social skills, emotional regulation, and independence in young learners.
Encourage positive interactions, teamwork, and conflict resolution among students.
Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all children in the classroom.
Parent & Stakeholder Engagement:
Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.
Collaborate with colleagues, school administrators, and support staff to enhance learning experiences.
Professional Development:
Stay updated on early childhood education best practices and teaching methodologies.
Attend workshops, training sessions, and staff meetings as required.
Skills:
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Primary Education.
