A Mutare-based FMCG is seeking a motivated Plumber to join its Construction Department.
Job Purpose
To carry out plumbing installation, maintenance and repair work on company construction projects and facilities, ensuring reliable water supply, drainage systems and compliance with applicable safety and workmanship standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Construction Supervisor or designated Line Manager, the successful applicant will, among other duties, be responsible for:
❖ Installing, maintaining and repairing water supply pipes, drainage lines, fittings and plumbing fixtures.
❖ Identifying and rectifying leaks, blockages and faults in plumbing systems.
❖ Reading and interpreting basic plumbing drawings, layouts and measurements.
❖ Inspecting plumbing installations and testing completed work for leaks and proper operation.
❖ Preparing material requirements and ensuring efficient use and proper care of tools and equipment.
❖ Coordinating with other construction trades to complete assigned work on schedule.
❖ Observing Safety, Health and Environmental procedures and maintaining a tidy work area.
❖ Performing any other related duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualification, Experience & Personal Attributes
The ideal applicant should possess the following minimum qualifications and attributes:
❖ A Journeyman Certificate in Plumbing.
❖ At least 1 to 2 years of relevant practical experience in plumbing installations, maintenance or repairs.
❖ Knowledge of water supply, drainage systems, plumbing materials and fault diagnosis.
❖ Ability to work independently and as part of a team with attention to quality and safety.
❖ Good communication skills, reliability and ability to work under pressure.
