The duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

(b) University Service and Community engagement– the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.
(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services.
(e) Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products.
FACULTY OF BUSINESS SCIENCES
DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION AND MARKETING SCIENCES
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Data Science/Information Systems (1 Post)
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate should be able to supervise students’ research, assess students on Work Related Learning and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules (beginner, intermediate and advanced levels):
Programming
Databases
Data Science
Data and Statistical Analysis
Artificial Intelligence.
Appointment will be made at the level of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience, research output, professional standing, and overall academic achievements.
Qualifications and experience
First degree in Data Science/Information Systems/Information Technology or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass,
Master’s Degree in Data Science/Information Systems/Information Technology or its equivalent,
A PhD in Data Science//Information Systems/Information Technology or its equivalent would be an added advantage.
