Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/ Professor (1 Post)- Communication Skills
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to teach communication skills. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership to the Department, initiate, guide and contribute to basic and applied research programmes in line with Education 5.0 as well as teach courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Furthermore, the candidate is expected to publish in peer-reviewed journals, seek and obtain external funding. In addition, the candidate will be expected to coordinate and participate in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research students. University teaching experience is an added advantage.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have an earned PhD in the field of Applied Linguistics, English and Communication, and or other related fields or should be a registered PhD student; and a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics/Master in English for specific purposes, and a first degree in English and Communication Skills.Possession of a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Education in English passed with at least an Upper Second-degree class is a must. Possession of a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education would be an added advantage. Proven record of practice in supervision, editing and designing of short courses in English and Communication would be an added advantage. Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years of university teaching experience.
