Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

(b) University Service and Community engagement – the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.

(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services

(e) Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products

Duties and Responsibilities


Department Of Development Studies

Post: Lecturer (2 Posts – Temporary Full Time Lecturer – Harare Campus).

Qualifications

• Degree in Development Studies or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
• Masters’ Degree in Development Studies or equivalent (Merit or distinction).
• PhD in Development Studies or relevant field is an added advantage.
• A good track record in research and publication.
• Teaching experience in the higher education sector is an added advantage.
• A relevant qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation from a recognised institution is a must for Post B

Post A

Duties and responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising students’ research work and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules at undergraduate level:
• Economics of Development
• Developing Economies
• Research Methods for Development
• Financial Management for Development Practitioners

Post B

Duties and responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising students’ research work and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules at undergraduate level:

• Introduction to Gender Studies
• Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation
• Children and Development
• Famines and Food Security

Post: Lecturer (3 Posts – Temporary Full Time Lecturer – Zvishavane Campus).

Qualifications

• Degree in Development Studies or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
• Masters’ Degree in Development Studies or equivalent (Merit or distinction).
• A relevant qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation from a recognised institution is a must
• PhD in Development Studies or relevant field is an added advantage.
• A good track record in research and publication.
• Teaching experience in the higher education sector is an added advantage.
