Job Description
The Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) is the largest and comprehensive Open & Distance e- Learning (ODeL) university in Zimbabwe that offers lifelong learning in an affordable and flexible manner.

Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Professor: Department Of Mathematical Sciences: Faculty Of Science: Bulawayo Regional Campus (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leading in the development and launching of new programmes;
• Developing and producing of distance Teaching and Open Learning materials including writing modules;
• Developing, designing, outlining, reviewing or rebranding a minimum of one (1) programme per year;
• Able to conduct a minimum of two (2) tutorials per semester;
• Carrying out applied research to develop innovations for industrialisation;
• Promoting the University wide initiatives;
• Establishing partnerships with industry and local communities;
• Engaging in community service;
• Interfacing with other Faculties;
• Engaging in University service;
• Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the Chairperson of the Department; and
• Be able to teach at least three (3) of the following courses: Vector Calculus or Ordinary and Partial Differential Equation or Mechanics or Mathematical Programming or Complex variables.
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of a Master of Science Degree in Mathematics from a recognized University, is a prerequisite;
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics;
• Possession of a PhD in Mathematics is an added advantage;
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of mathematical packages;
• A minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in an institution of Higher Learning is a requirement;
• Knowledge of distance education would be an added advantage;
• Computer literacy is a must;
