BRIEF OF THE JOB
A newly launched, strategically positioned Asset Management Company is seeking a highly analytical and driven Investment Analyst to support the Fund Manager in building, managing, and optimizing diversified investment portfolios.

This role is designed for a professional who thrives in a fast paced buy side environment and is eager to grow into a senior investment leadership position. The Analyst will act as the Fund Manager’s right hand, supporting all aspects of portfolio management, investment research, stakeholder engagement, and market intelligence.

The ideal candidate is passionate about financial markets, capable of producing high-quality research, and comfortable interacting with internal teams, portfolio company executives, sell side analysts, brokers, and other market participants.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Portfolio Support & Investment Analysis
• Conduct indepth financial, operational, and market analysis across listed equities, fixed income, and alternative assets (real estate, agriculture, mining, hospitality, infrastructure).
• Support the Fund Manager in monitoring portfolio companies, evaluating performance, identifying risks, and recommending valuecreation initiatives.
• Build and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, and scenario assessments to support investment decisions.
• Assist in constructing and rebalancing client portfolios based on market conditions, economic trends, and risk profiles.
• Prepare investment policy statements, portfolio proposals, and strategic investment recommendations.
Market Research & Intelligence
• Produce highquality research on companies, sectors, macroeconomic trends, and global market developments.
• Maintain active engagement with sellside analysts, brokers, and research houses to gather insights, validate assumptions, and stay ahead of market movements.
• Track news, corporate actions, regulatory changes, and industry developments that may impact portfolio performance.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Liaise with portfolio company management teams, board members, bankers, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather information and support strategic initiatives.
• Assist in evaluating restructuring opportunities, operational improvements, cost optimization strategies, and turnaround plans.
• Support due diligence processes for potential investments, divestitures, joint ventures, and M&A activities.
Governance, Compliance & Reporting
• Prepare clear, concise reports, presentations, and dashboards for the Fund Manager, senior leadership, and clients.
• Ensure adherence to operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risk frameworks.
• Maintain accurate documentation, research archives, and investment records.
Client & Internal Support
• Assist in maintaining client relationships by providing market updates, portfolio insights, and performance commentary.
• Support the Fund Manager in client meetings, presentations, and strategic discussions.
• Contribute to internal strategy development, product innovation, and investment committee materials.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3–6 years of experience in investment analysis, asset management, private equity, corporate finance, or investment banking.
• Strong understanding of financial modelling, valuation techniques, and investment research methodologies.
• Experience engaging sellside analysts, brokers, and market participants is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with both Zimbabwean and international capital markets is an advantage.
• Professional certifications (CFA, CAIA, CIPM, CA) are a plus.
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial analysis tools.
