Job Description

BOOST is seeking an Innovation Hub Coordinator to lead the Ruwa Social Innovation Hub, driving delivery of digital, AI and innovation programmes while managing a team of facilitators and mentors to support youth in transitioning from learning to earning. The role will oversee hub operations, enterprise incubation, and market linkages, ensuring inclusive participation (with a strong focus on young women and underserved communities) and compliance with safeguarding and PSEA standards. The Coordinator will also strengthen partnerships, scale innovation outcomes and contribute to building a sustainable ecosystem that enables young people to develop, test and commercialize solutions aligned with future-ready economies.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Innovation Hub Coordinator will lead the strategic, technical and operational management of the Ruwa Innovation Hub. The role is central to delivering BOOST’s ambition to create inclusive, future-ready innovation ecosystems, ensuring young people, especially young women and those from peri-urban and rural communities, can access tools, mentorship and pathways into digital employment and entrepreneurship.

Purpose of the Assignment
To provide , technical coordination, and operational management of the Ruwa Innovation Hub, ensuring it functions as a high-impact, scalable learning-to-earning ecosystem that equips young people with digital, AI, and innovation capabilities and transitions them into employment, entrepreneurship, and economic participation.

The Coordinator will oversee hub operations, life and digital skills programming, enterprise development, AI learning initiatives and innovation pipeline development, while strengthening partnerships with government ministries and private sector actors .

Reporting Line
Reports to: Programme Manager
Works closely with: Facilitators, Mentors, Government Partners and Private Sector

Scope of Work
1. Hub Management & Operations
Oversee daily operations of the innovation hub, startup labs, and makerspaces
Ensure efficient use of infrastructure, tools, and digital platforms
Maintain safe, inclusive, and youth-friendly learning environments

2.Programme Delivery (Digital, AI & Innovation)
Coordinate delivery of digital literacy, applied ICT, and AI programmes
Facilitate hands-on learning in digital fabrication, electronics, and innovation
Integrate online safety, safeguarding, and ethical AI practices
3. Facilitation and Mentorship Coordination
Manage a team of facilitators, trainers, and mentors
Design structured learning and mentorship pathways
Ensure quality assurance in programme delivery and learner outcomes

4. Innovation and Enterprise Development
Support ideation, prototyping, and testing of youth innovations
Coordinate incubation and acceleration programmes
Facilitate enterprise growth toward market entry and scale

5. Hub Scale-Up and Systems Strengthening
Lead implementation of the following scale-up areas:
Learning-to-earning pathways
Enterprise incubation and business development
Business formalization support
Market linkages and digital value chains
Policy engagement and systems strengthening
Knowledge management and learning
Youth showcasing platforms (e.g., World Youth Skills Day, Youth Digital Skills and Innovation Expos etc)

6.Partnerships and Ecosystem Development
Build partnerships with government, private sector and innovation actors
Strengthen linkages to national and global innovation ecosystems

7. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
Track programme performance against targets
Produce high-quality donor reports and documentation
Capture evidence, case studies and innovation outcomes

8. The Innovation Hub Coordinator will ensure that all programme design and implementation processes are gender-responsive, inclusive and equitable, in line with BOOST’s commitment to reaching marginalized and underserved populations.

9. The Innovation Hub Coordinator will uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, child protection and Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) in line with international best practices and donor requirements.

10. The Coordinator will ensure that programme participants have access to clear information about Hub's objectives, services and expected standards of conduct and are able to provide feedback and raise complaints safely and confidentially and are engaged in participatory approaches that respect their views, agency and rights.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Innovation, Development Studies, Social Sciences or related field
Master’s degree is an added advantage

Experience
Minimum 2 years in innovation hubs, digital programmes or youth development
Experience in AI, digital transformation or technology-driven programming
Proven track record in enterprise development or incubation
