As part of our Mine expansion, we are relocating some members of the community and thus seeking to recruit an experienced and qualified Relocations Officer to join our Team based in Sandawana, Mberengwa.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager with a dotted line to the Head of Corporate Affairs for Mutapa
Job Purpose
The Relocations Officer will be responsible for coordinating engagements with Project Affected Persons (PAPs) and livelihood restoration programs for the PAPs.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Act as the primary contact between the organisation and the Project Affected Persons (PAPs).
• Build positive relationships with PAPs and address disputes between the organisation and the PAPs.
• Develop and implement community engagements strategies tailored to suit the needs of the PAPs.
• Assist in designing and implementing livelihood restoration projects for the PAPs.
• Collect, document and analyse PAPs feedback and provide reports to management highlighting PAPs concerns and recommendations.
• Prepare and monitor relocation Budgets
• Provide guidance on most cost-effective relocation solutions.
• Organise meetings, workshops, awareness campaigns and disseminate accurate information about relocation activities.
• Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree or Diploma in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Relations or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Public Relations role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Competencies
• Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, conflict resolution skills and public relations expertise.
• Prior work in community engagements, stakeholder management or social development projects.
• Knowledge of local Government laws and policies
