Bantwana Zimbabwe (BZ) is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Graduate Social Work Intern for a USAID-funded project to reduce the vulnerability of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) to HIV and GBV. BZ is a leader in the development of high quality, comprehensive OVC service delivery in high HIV prevalence districts in Zimbabwe. BZ brings a significant track record of excellence and innovation in improving access to and quality of integrated OVC care and support, with a particular focus on strengthening coordination and layering of care, protection, and support services across the HIV continuum of response, for vulnerable children and their caregivers at community, district, provincial and national levels.
Reporting to the Case Management Officer, the Graduate Social Work Intern is responsible for supporting the project officers and assistants in the implementation of health, safe, stable and schooled domain interventions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assist in the identification, assessment, planning, referring and tracking of referrals and monitoring the delivery of services in a timely, context-sensitive, individualized and family-centred manner to check on progress towards graduation.
•Assist in building the resiliency of families and children affected by HIV so that they can meet their health, economic, education, and social development needs.
•Work with the Department of Social Development and other stakeholders in providing comprehensive case management services, ensuring the child’s future safety, wellness and general welfare risks are managed.
•Ensure quality services are provided and minimum standards are maintained guided by the case management SOP.
•Support the effective implementation of program activities including the development of work plans and timely reporting
Ensure accurate records of all correspondence & activities are maintained, including individual case records, in accordance with the case management protocol.
At least a Degree in Social Work or related field
•Experience in implementing case management activities is an added advantage.
•Previous Social work-related attachment in the NGO sector.
•Placement within the NGO sector is an added advantage.
•Excellent verbal & written skills, proficient in English, Ndebele &/or Shona.
•Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, Power point, Internet.
