Job Description

One of our clients in the Education Sector is looking for (2) mature, well-experienced candidates who would love to work with children in the role of Grade 6 and take them up to Grade 7. The primary duties will include: developing learning materials, teaching, answering student inquiries, assigning homework, and managing classroom supplies. The ideal candidates should be able to work without any supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow required course outlines.
• Develop work units prior to the start of academic year.
• Work in the capacity of teacher and mentor to all students.
• Demonstrated passion and commitment toward continued professional growth and development.
• Ensure the protection of all students in the school at all times.
• Work within the guidelines of all applicable legislation.
• Pay attention to and follow up on any changes or abnormal student behavior.
• Attend staff meetings and communicate regularly with other members of staff, parents, students, and other external contacts as required.
• Keep accurate academic notes and records regarding student progress, compiling and maintaining database information as required.
• Assign work and homework fairly and equitably.
• Collect and review all student work and grade accordingly.
• Provide regular and meaningful feedback to students.
• Demonstrate a passion and commitment toward continued professional growth and development
• Prepare course overview, unit plans, an assessment plan, and daily lessons plans

Qualifications and Experience

1. 5 ‘O’ Levels including Maths and English and a Degree in Education or any relevant Teaching Qualification.
2. 5 Years of experience in teaching Grade 6 and 7 pupils.
3. Proven record of producing excellent results/ pupil pass rate.
4. Knowledge of the current Revised Curriculum under ZIMSEC.
5. Previous Experience as a ZIMSEC examinations marker is advantageous
6. Must be able to set expected questions and answers on chosen subjects
7. Strong in Mathematics, English Language, Shona and Heritage, and Social Studies.

9. Have integrity and honesty
