Job Summary
The ideal candidate will lead the development, enhancement, and management of data visualization
solutions supporting our global HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs. This role ensures leaders
across bureaus, regions, and country programs have access to timely, accurate, and actionable insights
through robust, scalable data systems. The position will be based anywhere in African countries with AHF
presence.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain advanced dashboards and data visualization tools using modern
frontend frameworks, including Vue.js.
• Build secure, high-performance backend services and APIs using C#, .NET Core/ASP.NET,
supporting both real-time and scheduled data pipelines.
• Architect and implement microservices-based solutions to ensure scalability, modularity, and
efficient deployment of data systems.
• Lead SQL database development, including schema design, stored procedures, indexing, and
performance optimization.
• Integrate data from diverse global systems (HMIS, MER platforms, program reporting tools) into
unified visualization models.
• Apply SOLID principles, clean architecture, and industry best practices to ensure maintainable and
high-quality codebases.
• Manage version control workflows using Git, including branching strategies, pull requests, and
CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Design, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications in recognized data visualization tools (such as Tableau, Power
BI, or similar).
• Strong proficiency in Vue.js and modern frontend development (TypeScript, SPA architecture,
component libraries).
• Advanced experience in C#, .NET Core/ASP.NET, REST API development, and backend
engineering.
• Solid experience with microservices architecture, containerization, and service orchestration.
• Deep expertise in SQL database design, optimization, and data transformation workflows.
• Familiarity with data visualization libraries such as Apex Charts, Highcharts, Chart.js, or D3.js.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and automated data refresh cycles.
• Proficient in applying SOLID principles, clean architecture, and reusable code patterns.
• Competence in Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience with Docker and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) is an added advantage.
