Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome sector, has exciting and challenging career opportunities within its Shurugwi & South Dyke Mining Division
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Execute mineral exploration as well as production geology work.
Mineral resource accounting and reconciliations.
Plan and execute cost effective and efficient exploration programs.
Generate 3-D ore body models, plans and section using relevant geological modelling software to facilitate effective mine design and planning.
Provide Geo-technical services to the mining function
Qualifications and Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
BSc. Degree in Geology or Equivalent from a reputable tertiary institution plus at least 3 year’s post qualification experience, in both an open pit and underground hard rock mining environment.
Proficiency in the use of relevant geological modelling software, preferably Maptek Vulcan.
Experience in rock mechanics and associated geo-technical work is an added
advantage.
A sound knowledge of mineral resource management systems, particularly the
SAMREC or JORC Codes.
Practical knowledge and understanding of various exploration methods including but
not limited to geophysical exploration methods, diamond drilling and reverse circulation drilling, as well as the associated analysis and modelling of exploration results/data.
Working knowledge of safety management systems, preferably with exposure to the NOSA SHE System.
Good working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP.
Holder of a clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
