GENERAL MANAGER – FARM OPERATIONS

Location: Bulawayo, Zimbabwe
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Group Executive / CEO

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our integrated agricultural operation comprising the Farm, Hatchery, Feedmill, Workshop, Fleet and Technical Services. This is a key leadership role for a hands-on, commercially minded individual with a passion for operational excellence and sustainable growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provide strategic and operational leadership across farm, hatchery, feedmill, workshop and technical services.
* Ensure efficient production, high product quality and cost control.
* Drive maintenance excellence and maximum equipment availability.
* Manage budgets and financial performance.
* Lead, develop and motivate multi-disciplinary teams.
* Ensure biosecurity, safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
* Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

KEY AREAS OF OVERSIGHT

* Farm operations and production performance.
* Hatchery output and chick quality.
* Feedmill production and feed quality.
* Workshop & Technical Services (machinery, vehicles, infrastructure).
* Fleet management and cost control.
* Biosecurity, health, safety and environmental compliance.
* Financial management and budgeting.
* People leadership and team development.
* Customer focus and operational reliability.
* Continuous improvement and risk management.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Agriculture, Animal Science, Agricultural Management, Agribusiness, Poultry Science, Agricultural Engineering or related field.
* Postgraduate qualification (an advantage).
* Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in commercial farming or integrated agricultural operations.
* Proven experience in a senior management role.
* Experience with hatchery and/or feedmill operations (highly desirable).
* Experience managing workshop, fleet or maintenance functions.
* Valid and clean driver’s licence.
