GBV Consultant: Bantwana Zimbabwe

Introduction
Bantwana Zimbabwe seeks a suitably experienced Gender Consultant based in Bulawayo. The Consultant will support the CDC/Zim-TTECH funded, Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe (DREAMS) project implemented in Bubi, Lupane, Nkayi and Tsholotsho districts. The program aims to reduce new HIV infections amongst adolescent girls and young women aged 10-24years. Bantwana Zimbabwe implements four core sets of interventions namely, i) HIV prevention, condom education, gender norms change, social assets building, and sexual violence prevention; ii) Education Subsidies and primary, secondary and Part-Time and Continuing Education support; iii) Combination of socioeconomic approaches for caregivers layered with positive parenting; and iv) Economic empowerment for AGYW (financial literacy, work readiness and employability trainings, vocational training for market-driven technical skills and internships.
Purpose of Position
The overall goal of the position is to develop and lead the implementation of a technically sound, well mainstreamed gender-based violence prevention and response strategy on behalf of BZ in the DREAMS program.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities
Design, manage, plan and coordinate DREAMS GBV programme activities; Provide technical support and budget management for BZ DREAMS districts; Support roll out of DREAMS GBV activities in the respective districts; Conduct capacity building activities with BZ staff in districts on gender, HIV and child abuse; Coordinate Gender mainstreaming issues for BZ; Develop work plans to coordinate DREAMS GBV; Analyse and monitor trends, opportunities, and challenges in HIV, GBV and child protection; Establish and strengthen strategic partnerships with key DREAMS stakeholders and Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community development; Coordinate DREAMS GBV response, strengthening district referral pathways; Provide recommendations and strategic advice to Senior Management; Work closely in project districts to identify promising practises, and strategic opportunities for enhancing gender equality and ending violence against women, adolescents and children.
Administration Roles
Write quarterly, monthly, annual progress reports; Consolidate district feedback and reports to produce thematic reports; Network and represent BZ at various child protection and GBV forums/stakeholders’ meetings; Support and monitor thematic outcomes including delivery-based contracts; Thematic budget tracking.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Advanced degree Social Work or any Social Sciences similar qualification. Specialized studies in gender a distinct asset; Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a similar role; Proven experience in the design, implementation and management of GBV programs; Experience in working with different stakeholders, preferably including experience in leading coordination efforts; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to work independently, take initiative and demonstrate leadership; Proven ability to develop and maintain partnerships
