Overview of the role

The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager in the implementation of the Cash Transfer interventions in an urban, peri-urban and rural context of Zimbabwe. The Field Officer will work closely with local communities, government authorities from various departments such as the Department of Social Welfare, Nutrition Department, and other private Sector partners in providing quality programming and adherence to GOAL and UNICEF policies and manuals.

Duties and Responsibilities

Main responsibilities

Planning Field Activities

Meets and discusses district level project activities with the Project Manager
Plans weekly, monthly and quarterly project activities
Prepares resource requests (such as fuel and stationery) to carry out field activities and submits to Project Manager

Field Project Implementation at Community Level

Supports in nutrition trainings and nutrition related coordination
Assists beneficiary registration, verification, and validation processes
Conducts community stakeholder leadership orientation and sensitisation meetings
Conducts community mobilisation and sensitisation meetings
Sensitize all district Nutrition and cash transfers officials to the project in collaboration with the Program Manager.
Attend nutrition-related district coordination meetings and participate to represent GOAL and share progress reports and lessons learnt widely.
Support all activities for CCWs,CHWs, inclusive of training, outreach, monthly meetings, and reporting.
Coordinate all district-based trainings for staff, program participants and stakeholders in collaboration with district offices. Deliver some training topics as needed.
Verify reports from health facilities regarding children admitted for malnutrition who are eligible for cash transfers and discharge rations.
Identify opportunities for integrating of protection and nutrition messaging and share these opportunities with the Program Manager.
Contribute to outreach campaigns and public awareness messaging on protection and nutrition. Ensure messaging reflects learning from program activities.

CASH Transfer related MEAL

Provides monitoring support for Retailers in operational area
Supports Monitoring & Evaluation surveys
Supports MEAL Officer in the supervision of Enumerators
Facilitate the establishment and implementation of effective Community Feedback Mechanisms.

Community Coordination

Coordinates community participation and stakeholder relations at community level
Facilitates collaboration with stakeholders, such as DDRC, Retailers, Police and Community leaders
Participates in district meetings as assigned by Program Manager

Reporting

Identifying and documenting sound practices, lessons learned and success stories
Timeously produce reports on a weekly, monthly, mid-termly and annual basis.
Adhere to GOAL finance standard procedure to ensure that all financial related activities are in compliance with the GOAL finance procedures.
Commit to adhere to and respect the Code of conduct
Adhere to all GOAL policies

Qualifications and Experience

Requirements (Person Specification)

At least a Degree in Nutrition, Social Sciences, Development studies or equivalent
Evidence of maturity and experience in food security programming, market-based livelihoods interventions and working in urban and rural programs (at least 3 years)
Understanding of safeguarding and mainstreaming principles and experience of working on such issues
Confident presentation and facilitation skills, proven record in provision of trainings.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to under pressure, with minimum supervision.
Proficiency in using standard computer software, especially Microsoft office products.
