Job Description

Reporting to the Director-General, the Director Macro-Economics will be responsible for managing, coordinating, advising and directing a number of departments responsible for the provision of prices statistics, finance statistics, national accounts, balance of payments and trade statistics collected through censuses and surveys.

1.Development of a Strategic Plan, Annual Work Plan and budgeting for the Division.

2.Providing technical and administrative oversight of the Division.

3.Ensure the implementation of relevant acts, procedures and regulations.

4.Review of various statistical reports.

5.Advocacy for statistics and assessing methodology to satisfy user demands.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience

First degree in Economics or equivalent with a quantitative bias, from a reputable University.

A Master’s Degree in Economics or equivalent with a quantitative bias.

At least five(5)years relevant post-qualification experience of which two(2)should have been at managerial level.

Person Specification

Knowledge of international best practices in censuses and surveys. Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
