Position: Data Capturer/ICT Assistant

Terre Des Hommes Italia (TDH Italy), a child rights organisation seeks to hire a competent, qualified and
experienced Data capturer/ICT assistant to support the projects implemented by TdH Italy in the Tongogara
Refugee Settlement.
Job purpose
The Data Capturer/ICT Assistant will be responsible for managing data collection, entry and validation
processes to support WFP assistance distribution. The role includes ensuring the efficient use and
maintenance of ICT gadgets and systems, as well as acting as a liaison with UNHCR and other stakeholders to
ensure smooth data handling and technology integration.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Data Management:
o Accurately capture and input beneficiary data into prescribed databases or systems.
o Maintain and update records to ensure data consistency, quality and security.
o Assist in monthly data cleaning processes
o Generate data reports and summaries to support decision-making processes.
• ICT Support:
o Set up, configure, and maintain ICT gadgets (e.g., tablets, laptops) used during assistance
distributions.
o Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
o Train staff and refugees on the proper use of ICT tools and platforms.
o Safekeeping and maintenance of ICT gadgets and ICT inventory.
• Collaboration with Donors:
o Coordinate with Donors to ensure accurate data sharing for beneficiary identification and
registration.
o Work closely with Donor teams to ensure the alignment of data with distribution needs and
guidelines.
o Provide timely updates and reports on data processing activities to relevant stakeholders.
• System Optimization and Security:
o Ensure proper implementation of data protection protocols to safeguard sensitive
information.
o Monitor and enhance the performance of ICT systems to meet operational requirements.
o Regularly back up critical data and maintain recovery plans in case of system failures.
• Work with the communication team to ensure that communication products developed and shared
enhance the visibility of TdH Italy.
Qualifications and Experience
• Education:
• Work experience
o Degree in Development, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management/
Economics/ Monitoring & Evaluation/Statistics
o at least 4 years of experience in data entry, ICT support, or a related field.
o Demonstrated experience in data processing and management of large-scale surveys.
o Experience in using standard food security, livelihoods, resilience, Child Protection, Sexual &
Gender Based Violence, etc. reporting and output/impact indicators assessment tools
o Demonstrated experience of statistical packages and/ or data analysis software (e.g. SPSS,
Excel, Epi Info, SMART, STAT 01) and advanced computer skills (word-processing,
spreadsheets, and databases) a must.
o Demonstrate experience in multi-sectoral programme monitoring, evaluation and learning
is an advantage
o Prior experience working with humanitarian organizations or NGOs is an advantage
Key Skills
The person is expected to have the following key skills:
• Technical skills
o Proficiency in data entry software, databases, and tools such as MS Excel, Access, or
equivalent.
o Knowledge of ICT device configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
o Familiarity with beneficiary registration systems and technologies used by WFP or UNHCR.
o Strong analytical skills, knowledge and experience in implementing social protection,
education, food security & livelihoods, disaster preparedness projects is an added
advantage.
o Knowledge of CHS Accountability Standards and Humanitarian principles including the Code
of Conduct, Protection of beneficiaries, Age and Disability Inclusion in Humanitarian
activities.
• Soft skills
o Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
o Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and
stakeholders.
o Good oral and written communication skills in English.

Working Conditions
• The position may require flexibility in working hours, especially during distribution periods.
• The role involves interaction with multiple stakeholders, requiring adaptability and responsiveness.
