Job Description

Background
The National Age Network of Zimbabwe (NANZ) is a coalition of organizations whose aim is to promote mainstreaming of ageing in all development processes. The organisation aims to promote an inclusive world where people of all ages feel accepted and respected, mainstream ageing and promote social inclusion in all development processes. NANZ seeks to promote successful ageing and improve the quality of life of older people and their families.
The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has created a global crisis in which communities have plunged into severe socio-economic distress. This has seen cases of violence and abuse rise with no proper oversight as to how to deal with abuse and violence from COVID-19. OSISA seeks to strengthen governments' responsiveness to the rights of the elderly with regards to economic and food security, abuses, and violence for the safety and dignity of older persons during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are recruiting a consultant to develop psychosocial support/litigation/referrals tools kits for use by national stakeholders to support victims of abuse and violence from COVID-19. Zimbabwe.
Expected deliverables
Inception report that includes the methodology of delivery of tasks framework, tools, and detailed work plan; A report on the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 restrictions on vulnerable communities/groups and the increase in abuse and violence in the communities. The report must include the current framework on psychosocial support for victims of abuse and violence considering the effects of restrictions on the function of the justice system in Zimbabwe; A draft psychological first aid protocol for adoption by caregivers and healthcare providers; A draft referral toolkit for the victims of abuse and violence from COVID-19.

Duties and Responsibilities

Scope of work
Review the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 restrictions on vulnerable communities/groups and the increase in abuse and violence in the communities; Impact of COVID-19 on support for victims of abuse and violence considering the effects of restrictions on the function of the justice system in Zimbabwe; Review existing legal frameworks on abuse and violence from COVID-19 in Zimbabwe; Develop psychological first aid for the COVID-19 context; Develop a draft framework for a support system for the victims of abuse and violence from COVID-19.

Qualifications and Experience

Desired qualifications
We require a consultant/consultancy firm with the following attributes: Solid knowledge and experience in desk research, human rights, health, and socio-economic justice in Zimbabwe; Knowledge and experience in human rights-based monitoring approach applied to abuse and psychosocial support; An academic background reflecting the requirements stated above will be an added advantage
