JOB SUMMARY
The Commodity Distribution Assistant will coordinate with local authorities, manage distribution sites, verify beneficiary lists, oversee voucher distribution, monitor and report, provide support to beneficiaries, ensure safety protocols, engage with stakeholders, and conduct community sensitization.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Coordination and Operations
•Collaborate with local authorities and community leaders to facilitate smooth distribution operations.
•Manage distribution sites to ensure orderly and efficient food voucher distribution.
•Participate in the registration and verification of beneficiary lists to prioritize the most vulnerable households.
Monitoring and Reporting
•Maintain accurate records of all distribution activities, including beneficiary details, quantities distributed, and incidents.
•Prepare and submit distribution reports (daily, weekly, and final) to ensure transparency and accountability.
•Document and report disputes, fraud, or security concerns promptly.
Beneficiary Support and Feedback
•Provide guidance to beneficiaries on e-voucher usage and address any issues.
•Collect and analyze beneficiary feedback on the distribution process.
•Compile data on voucher redemption rates, identify challenges, and propose actionable solutions.
•Support post-distribution surveys and focus group discussions to assess project impact.
Compliance and Accountability
•Ensure adherence to project guidelines, donor requirements, and humanitarian principles.
•Manage feedback mechanisms such as help desks, suggestion boxes, or hotlines to address beneficiary concerns effectively.
Capacity Building and Stakeholder Engagement
•Train and guide local volunteers or temporary staff on distribution procedures, safety, and accountability measures.
•Engage stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for distribution efforts.
Risk Mitigation and Safety
•Identify and report risks at distribution sites, including overcrowding or security threats.
•Collaborate with the team to implement risk mitigation measures and ensure safe operations.
Qualifications
•Degree in a development field such as Development Studies or any other development focused degree
•5 ordinary level passes including English and Mathematics
•At least two years of experience implementing food/voucher distribution projects
•Proficiency in local languages – isiNdebele and Tonga..
