CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR IN NURSING SCIENCE
Reporting to the Head of Department, the incumbent will serve as a Clinical Instructor and will be teaching and conducting solution-oriented research that will lead to policy change, commercialisation, and industrialisation in line with the Education 5.0.
Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate should possess the ability to teach and supervise undergraduate nursing students in clinical practice and evaluate their competence and performance during Work-Related Learning activities. Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Clinical Instructor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:
1. Teaching - The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance with the Department and/ or College guidelines and standards.
2. University Service and Community Engagemen - The incumbent should participate in all Department, College and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.
4. Research - The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialisation, which benefits the students, the Global community and the University.
5. Innovations - Innovations should lead to the production of goods and services.
6. Industrialisation - Through the commercialisation of goods and services.
Desired Attributes:
Master’s Degree in Nursing Science.
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Nursing Science.
A PhD/ DPhil in Nursing Science will be an added advantage
Valid proof or registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
Record of successful postgraduate supervision
Track record of research and scholarly publication
A tertiary teaching qualification will be a further added advantage
At least 5 years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution
Experience in clinical accompaniment of post basic nursing students
Strong networking abilities to collaborate with local, regional, and international organizations
Experience in curriculum design, academic leadership, and external engagement is an added advantage
A successful track record of raising and managing funds from donors and foundations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service
Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural academic environment
Innovative mindset and familiarity with modern teaching and research tools
