Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our medical team as a Cashier. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing financial transactions and providing exceptional customer service to our patients. This position necessitates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The position is based at Zimbabwe Red Cross Clinic in Harare.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently process patient payments, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and checks.
• Ensure the daily maintenance and balancing of the cash drawer, verifying that all transactions are correctly recorded.
• Assist patients with billing inquiries and provide clear, accurate information regarding their accounts.
• Generate receipts and other financial documents as required.
• Collaborate with the billing department to resolve any payment discrepancies or issues.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns and questions with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.

Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma/degree in accounting or equivalent
• 3 years proven experience as a cashier, of which 2 years should be from a medical or healthcare environment.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with computer systems and software, ERP, OmniSol
• Knowledge of medical billing and coding practices is preferred but not required.
