ASSISTANT UNDERWRITER
Exciting and challenging opportunities have arisen within First Mutual Reinsurance Company In the Operations Department. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill these vacancies on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head Underwriter, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supporting the underwriting of new and renewal business by providing technical opinion for Underwriters through assessment of the information available.
• Ensuring that all treaties accepted are booked and the reinsurance structure and period is up to date
• Performing underwriting support activities associated with information gathering of all businesses, renewals, and midterm changes on khan of the Underwriter.
• Ensuring that all the treaties/facultative contracts are processed and the cover notes / slips / wordings signed and sent. to cedants and brokers.
• Assisting the finance team in reconciliation of cedants and broker accounts and chasing outstanding amounts due from them while also ensuring timely remittance of amount due to them.
• Participating in the monitoring of premium payments and liaise with Brokers.
• Maintaining proper records of all businesses offers and transactions received and concluded.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Insurance and Risk Management or related.
• At least I year of relevant work experience in Underwriting or Claims fields in the Insurance and/or Reinsurance industry.
• Additional professional qualifications in Insurance Is added advantage.
• Exhibits energy, strong desire to achieve, high dedication level.
• High standard of accuracy with attention to detail
