Job Description
LOCATION: Binga, Nkayi, Hwange, Lupane

Organisational Background
The Organisation of Rural Associations for Progress (ORAP) is a leading local NGO involved in development and relief (emergency) work in rural communities in Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South and Midlands provinces. It exists to fight all forms of poverty among the rural and urban grassroots communities of disadvantaged women, men and youth through the empowerment of people by facilitating their development in their diverse cultural contexts.
Project Summary
The vacancy for the upcoming USAID funded Amalima Loko Project. The project seeks to improve food security through increased food access and sustainable watershed management. Its purposes are P1: Enhanced and inclusive local ownership over food security and resilience planning and development, P2: Watershed management improved, P3: Adaptive and absorptive capacity improved
Position summary
The incumbent will work under the Transport Manager and will be required to ensure project staff is safely transported to and from various destinations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Major Duties/Responsibilities include:-
Ensuring provision of reliable and secure driving services by driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of documents and other related goods and supplies in/out of HQ and district offices under the authorization of the supervisor
Ensuring cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
Conducting and recording daily vehicle checks to ensure required levels of oils and water are maintained before the vehicle departs
Ensuring that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents
Performing any other work-related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications:-
A minimum of 5’O levels, clean Driver’s license (class 4), Defensive driving certificate, Certificate in Mechanics is an added advantage
Experience:-
One years’ work experience as a driver
Safe driving record, knowledge of driving rules and regulation
