Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in a growing diversified concern for the position of Payroll Officer. The role entails correctly capturing and processing all payroll related information within set timelines. The role requires an energetic and dynamic individual who has an in-depth understanding of payroll processing and ability to deal with third party organisations such as NSSA, ZIMDEF, NEC, Medical Aid and Trade Unions.

Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Calculating and capturing hours worked, overtime, leave days and advance salaries for all employees.
 Preparing payroll information for approval with the HR Executive.
 Correctly capturing employee information and processing payrolls within the set timeframes.
 Preparing payroll reports and payroll journals for the Finance department and third party organizations.
 Receipting and sending Proof of Payments to NECs, ZIMRA, Trade Unions, ZIMDEF and Medical Aid.
 Maintaining and updating employee records and ensuring that correct information is conveyed to third party organizations.
 Keeping up to date salary information in line with all NECs. Ensuring that wages and salaries are processed after confirmation by NECs.
 Ensuring that all remittances are processed correctly and in time to avoid penalties.
 Ensuring that all payroll related payments are paid in time and that relevant information is readily available for decision making.
 Assisting staff members with NSSA claims such as survivors’ pension and various pension related payments.

Qualifications and Experience

PERSON SPECIFICATION
The ideal person must possess the following:
 A Diploma in Payroll Management
 Three years in a similar position preferably two must have been in a diversified company.
 Experience of working in with Belina Payroll System a prerequisite.
 Must have basic understanding of human resource management concepts.
 Must have an understanding of various statutes governing payroll processing with a particular focus on pensions, tax and medical aid.
