About UPPER RUYA SUB-CATCHMENT COUNCIL

Upper Ruya Sub-Catchment Council (URSCC) is a statutory water management body in Zimbabwe established by an Act of Parliament; Water Act of 1998 (Chapter 20:24) under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate. It is the lowest water planning & management unit upstream of the Ruya River that eventually flows into Zambezi River. The URSCC manages water in the Upper Ruya Sub-Catchment, a river basin describe on the basis of hydrological boundaries and pragmatism

URSCC is made up of diverse stakeholders which consist of domestic groundwater users, communal farmers, small scale commercial farmers, resettled farmers, large scale commercial farmers, small scale miners, large scale miners, rural district councils, urban town councils, industries and any other deemed group by the respective Sub-Catchment Council.
