About Rujeko Home Based Care Program

Rujeko Home Based Care Programme popularly known as Rujeko is a community based non-profit making Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO-12/2009) established in 1995 owing to the growing number of HIV/AIDS patients who were discharged from Murambinda Mission Hospital and Birchenough Bridge Hospital to die at home. Drawing from the successes of Dananai Centre home based care programme operating in the Northern part of Buhera District from Murambinda Mission Hospital, the then DMO of Buhera District, Dr. Monica Glenshaw, supported and facilitated the formation of Rujeko Home Based Care at Birchenough Bridge Growth Point in the southern part of Buhera District. Currently operating in all 33 wards of Buhera South in Manicaland Province of Zimbabwe, the organization is dedicated to ameliorating the deteriorating living standards of the chronically ill and people infected with and affected by the severity of HIV and AIDS.
