Job Description

Zvandiri is seeking to recruit Zvandiri Mentors who will be responsible for coordinating the scale up of Zvandiri model and Community Adolescent Treatment Supporters (CATS) services through technical capacity building of MoHCC service providers and support and mentorship of CATS in a specified district. This role will include amongst other things, coordination of Zvandiri’s project activities in the districts, in accordance with the approved project work plans ensuring timeous delivery of the project to the required quality standards, as well as leading on the administrative needs of the district. Also ensure that all beneficiaries receive the appropriate differentiated care, based on the CATS Zvandiri Intervention Model

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide training, mentoring and supervision to the CATS at the facility and community levels
• Oversee and manage the monthly CATS coordination meetings and provide direct supervision to CATS in accordance with the CATS supervision guidelines
• Organize the formation of support groups and/or regeneration of support groups and provide ongoing mentorship at each supported facility within the district
• Mentor health care workers and CATS at each supported facility, focusing on agreed upon action points
• Ensure that all beneficiaries receive the appropriate differentiated care, based on the CATS Zvandiri Intervention Model
• Provide Initiated Testing and Counselling as per national guidelines
• Facilitate linkage between HIV testing, diagnosis, care, support and treatment
• Provide adherence counselling and initiate clients on ARV treatment
• Participation in the documentation of case studies, key lessons learnt, success stories and best practices
• Liaison with partners and local stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of project activities

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, social science or related field preferred, nursing diploma an added advantage.
• At least three years’ experience in community development and/or mobilisation
• Experience working with children and adolescents essential
• Comprehensive understanding of Zvandiri Model desirable
• Demonstrated experience in adolescent HIV/ART programming, including community, peer-led interventions
• Fluency in English and Shona with knowledge of Ndebele a plus
• Knowledge of and familiarity with the Ministry of Health and Child Care Systems
• PEPFAR experience an added advantage
