Job Description

The Project Coordinator is responsible and accountable for all aspects of the Youth Boost project, an OPHID partnership with Avert and the Ministry of Health and Child Care. This Youth Boost project is supported by Vitol Foundation with the aim to increase the number of adolescents and young people aged 10-24 accessing HIV, sexual health, family planning, Female Genital Schistosomiasis and mental health services in four provinces in Zimbabwe. Young people will increase their knowledge of, and demand for services through improved community-based screening and referral systems and high quality health communications using digital technology through the Boost application. The Project Coordinator is based in Harare and will report to OPHID’s Deputy Executive Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities.

Facilitate the mobilization and sensitization of relevant stakeholders on the Youth Boost project;
Engage relevant MOHCC stakeholders for guideline review to ensure most current recommended screening and information is aligned;
Collect and package information and referral pathways for SRH, mental health and Female Genital Schistosomiasis programs in Zimbabwe;
Develop program guides, SOPs and work instructions;
Develop standardized training model for building skills and competencies of community outreach agents (COAs) to conduct screening and referrals using Youth Boost;
Organize and arrange logistics for training activities together with OPHID TASQC program staff;
Produce and submit weekly activity reports outlining training activities and outcomes; Monitor registration and use of Youth Boost application by COAs;
Conduct data-drive program remediation and deep dives to document drivers of program performance in high-low performing areas; Submit project reports to management within specified format and timelines;
Contribute to development of process evaluation data collection tools, SOPs and analysis plan in collaboration with project management team;
Manage Project/program resources for the organization

Qualifications and Experience

Person Specification:

At least Master’s degree in a Social Science discipline;
Fluency in at least one local languages;
3 years’ experience as a Project Coordinator;
Previous community-based programming experience;
Qualitative research experience/interviewing skills;
Good communication and interpersonal skills;
Knowledge and experience of social protection, TB/HIV/Malnutrition services and routine indicators in Zimbabwe;
Good written and oral English;
Good knowledge of MOHCC registers, data and indicators relating to HIV/TB/nutrition and experience in M&E and data collection and analysis; Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
