JOB SUMMARY
The WASH Filed Officer will be required to oversee tasks related to the selection of the beneficiaries; support implementation of activities; monitoring activities; communication with counterparts involved in the project preparation, implementation and evaluation in accordance with the existing regulation of Zimbabwe and Donor requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Implement health and hygiene promotion initiatives appropriate to the context and ensuring the technical and social aspects of WASH programming are integrated
• Promote community participation in all WASH activities and provide regular updates to the supervisor
• Knowledge of public health and one or more other relevant areas (e.g. health promotion, PHHE, community development, community behavioural engagement and change).
• Good knowledge and experience on working with local partner agencies with a capacity of providing formal and informal training.
• Experience and understanding of community mobilisation in relation to Community Health Clubs, water, sanitation and hygiene activities.
• Sensitivity to the needs and priorities of disadvantaged populations
• Demonstrated experience of integrating protection, gender and diversity issues into public health promotion
• Monitor and evaluate activities in the communities as per donor and organizational guidelines.
• Coordinate with Local Authorities and Government line ministries at field level in project areas in ensuring that WASH interventions are well structured and articulated to appropriate target population.
• Identify and conduct trainings at ward level (Gender, CBM, PHHE, latrine construction, Menstrual Hygiene Management)
• Enhance exit strategies for interventions in programming as an assurance of sustainability of the project after the phase-out and ensure that organizational goals, vision and the mission statement are clearly understood.
• Any other responsibilities /tasks as deemed necessary.
• Adherence to the requirements of the CBFRM guidelines & procedures. The employee will implement and take part in activities in line with the CBFRM guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS
• University degree in Public / Environmental Health/Diploma in Environmental Health or related field in Social Development.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant field experience.
