Job Description
2 x VEHICLE TRACKING CLERK
Mega Market (Pvt) Ltd is inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and highly motivated individuals to fill the position of Vehicle Tracking Clerk based in Mutare.
Job Purpose
The main purpose of the role is to monitor real-time vehicle movements, report vehicle locations, analyse driver behaviour, and track trip performance in support of efficient and safe fleet operations. The Vehicle Tracking Clerk works closely with the Fleet Control team by providing timely alerts and reports to enhance safety, efficiency, and fleet utilization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vehicle Tracking Team Leader, the successful applicant will, among other duties, be responsible for:
❖ Monitoring trucks' movements using GPS tracking systems.
❖ Tracking stopovers, route deviations, geo-fencing compliance, and trip time overruns.
❖ Monitoring speeding, night driving, unauthorized stops, and idling.
❖ Responding swiftly to emergencies, breakdowns, and hijack alerts.
❖ Communicating in real time with drivers and escalating issues to the Tracking Team Leader.
❖ Reporting anomalies including route deviations, unauthorized stoppages, reckless driving, and prolonged delays.
❖ Preparing daily trip summaries, including ignition times, idle time, stoppage locations, and durations.
❖ Maintaining tracking records and logs for audits and incident investigations, and preparing daily, weekly, and monthly tracking reports.
❖ Performing regular tracking system checks, reporting malfunctioning tracking units, and liaising with IT or vendor support teams to resolve faults.
❖ Maintaining vehicle logbooks, trip records, and tracker history while complying with SHEQ requirements and company procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualification, Experience & Personal Attributes
The ideal applicant would possess the qualifications and attributes listed below,
❖ At least five (5) Ordinary Level passes, with Mathematics, English, and Accounts as prerequisites.
❖ A Diploma in Information Communication and Technology or a related discipline.
❖ Training in GPS tracking systems (VTrack, AVL, SkySurv, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
❖ At least one (1) year of working experience in fleet, logistics, and/or dispatch control.
❖ Demonstrable experience in using tracking software and Microsoft Excel.
❖ Analytical mind-set and good problem-solving skills.
