RESPONSIBLE TO: SECRETARY FOR HEALTH AND CHILD CARE

GRADE: F

JOB SUMMARY
The Chief Director is responsible and accountable for the overall strategic direction of the curative services division. This entails ensuring the effective planning, management, development and integration of quality clinical care in line with the Ministry’s objectives, policies and plans.

Duties and Responsibilities


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The specific responsibilities are:
 Planning and designing the course of action to facilitate the accomplishment of goals and objectives of the curative division.
 Providing guidance, direction and supervision to curative health care services.
 Coordinates the development and review of policies, procedures and systems relating to curative health services.
 Providing technical guidance to institutions on procurement and maintenance of hospital equipment and related services.
 Performing any other duties as assigned by the Secretary for Health and Child Care.

Qualifications and Experience


QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
 A basic degree in Medicine and post graduate degree in a Medical specialist area
 Registration with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe.
 At least 5 years experience as a Clinical Director or Clinical specialist.
 Experience as a Clinical Director or Senior Specialist in a clinical area will be an added advantage.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 Demonstrate ability to do strategic planning, implement programs and policies, and priorities associated with the delivery of curative health care services in a manner consistent with the Results Based Management framework.
 Administrative experience that includes developing management performance standards, departmental policies and procedures, proposal development and implementation.
 Experience in health care program development
 Ability to establish and maintain effective cooperation in professional and personal relationships in the work situation.
 Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
