Job Description

To ensure and improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Tool room department in meeting delivery of customer orders and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Timeous delivery of production toolage requirements and timeously executing external customer orders.
 Ensuring toolage is produced to specified dimensional and finish standards.
 Ensuring correct materials identification and proper storage.
 Ensuring that toolage is delivered from the Toolroom in line with customer requirements and Shepco BMA promises.
 Ensuring that manufacturing processes are performed at the lowest possible cost.
 Supervision and training of junior personnel and Shop Assistants.
 Accurate reports to the Chargehand, Supervisor and Management
 Maintaining highest levels of tradesmanship in the Tool room
 Ensuring housekeeping is done to maintain cleanliness and order in the work area.
 Ensuring optimum consumables usage, especially tool steels, oils, cutting tools, grinding stones, etc.
 Executing any other duties that may be assigned to him/her from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

 An Apprenticeship trained Class One Certificate in Turning and Machining
 At least two years’ post qualification experience
 Be a self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision.
 Goal-oriented and results driven who is able to work both independently and within a team environment.
