An established company in the Transport Industry is seeking experienced candidates for the following positions in our workshop:
2. Truck Mechanic
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
• Detecting truck issues
• Attending to breakdowns
• Clutch installation and removal including gearbox and differential unit
• Servicing trucks, including checking oil, wheel alignment and testing batteries
• Ensuring the road worthiness of trucks and undertaking preventive maintenance
• Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Adjusting and relining brakes, aligning wheels, tightening bolts and screws, and reassembling equipment
• Raising trucks and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Competencies
• Trade Tested Class 1 Mechanic with experience in trucks
• An additional technical qualification will be an added advantage
• Ability to meet deadlines and paying attention to detail.
• 2-3 years’ experience as a Truck Mechanic
• Knowledge of Argosy trucks
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems such as hydraulics, air brakes and electrical systems
• Extensive experience with vehicle diagnostic equipment
