Duties and Responsibilities
Safe transportation of cargo
Aligning to the CEVA assigned trip details and instructions to ensure safe delivery of consignments to the final destination.
Vehicle Management
Providing basic maintenance to the assigned vehicle by making sure that the allocated vehicle is in good working order
Monitoring tyre wear, wheel nuts,
Ensure cargo security,
Vehicle cleanliness.
Compliance
Aligning to the Company Vehicle Policy in cases of accidents.
Ensure compliance with applicable road laws, rules and regulations i.e The Road Traffic Act.
Document control & management
Cargo & vehicle document control and management
Filling in of delivery documents,
Transport orders,
Log books
Producing proof of delivery.
Safety, Health and Environment (SHE)
Reports to supervisor/superior any defects in equipment or protective device which may endanger himself/herself or others.
Submits himself herself at the expense of the company to any medical examinations, tests or X-rays required in connection with work.
Uses or wears the equipment, protective devices or clothing provided.
Desists from removing or making effective any protective devices prescribed or required by the company.
Qualifications and Experience
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
At least 5 ‘O’ Levels
Valid and clean class 2 drivers’ license with retest
Defensive Drivers’ license
Mature and willing to work odd hours
Minimum of 2 years trucks driving experience
Experience in the freight and logistics industry
