Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above position which has arisen within Zambuko Trust P/L.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs audits and other audit assigned duties in accordance with professional Audit standards
• Review of company’s internal control systems and evaluates the adequacy of the controls designed to manage Zambuko risks. Discusses strengths and opportunities for improvement with management and develops recommendations for improvement.
• Planning for each audit assignment and keeping management informed of audit progress.
• Examination of financial and operational information.
• Review of economy, efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
• Review of institutional compliance with laws, regulations and other external requirements.
• Ensure all operations are in compliance with company policy and procedures, and ensuring that procedures are not merely being followed correctly but more importantly questions staff understanding and awareness of why the procedures are necessary.
• Carrying out fraud and other special investigative audits.
• Prepares organized, accurate and competent work papers ensuring that documentation clearly supports the conclusions regarding each audit objective.
• Provides information and sound recommendations to management throughout the engagement. Prepares the final issues matrix and written report and obtains actions plans on audit issues. Makes presentations to Board and management as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications And Experience
• Minimum of a degree in Accounting /Finance or related relevant professional
Qualification
• Three (3) years internal Auditing work preferably in Microfinance.
COMPETENCIES
• Good interpersonal Skills and excellent team player
• Knowledge of Pastel and Loan tracking software.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Class 4 Driver’s licence is an added advantage
