Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel to fill the following post which has arisen at RusapeTown Council.
Town Planning Technician
The Town Planning Technician reports to the Town Planner Applicants must have the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Preparations of layout plans for residential, commercial, industrial and other uses.
• Preparation of Master and Local Plans in terms of the RTCP Act (Chapter 29:12)
• Maintenance and updating subdivision and change of use registers
• Manning of drawing office
• Preparation of Town Planning Section budgets and work plans
• Digitizing and mapping of all the properties and utilities under the jurisdiction of Council in GIS
• Development control in terms of the Regional, Town and Country Planning Act (Chapter 29:12)
• Site selection for different land uses
• Peg search
• Any other duties assigned by the Town Planner
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Experience:
• A minimum of a National Diploma in Rural and Urban Planning or equivalentfrom a recognized institution.
• Knowledge of GIS is a must
• Knowledge of 3D draughting software is a must.
• At least two years post qualification experience
• Local Government experience is an added advantage.
• A clean class 4 driver's license.
• Must have a clean record of service within the Local Government fraternity.
