Following extensive research and consultations with experts and stakeholders on gender and climate justice, a local NGO seeks to develop a practical training manual that translates its research findings on gender and climate change into a training manual. The manual will serve as a comprehensive resource for trainers and facilitators, equipping them to deliver workshops and capacity-building sessions on gender-responsive approaches to sustainability and climate action.
2. Objective
To develop a comprehensive, gender-responsive training manual based on existing research findings, ensuring it is user-friendly, practical, and suitable for use in training workshops.
3. Scope of Work
The consultant will be responsible for:
• Reviewing and synthesising the research findings and existing materials.
• Structuring the content into a coherent, logical, and practical training manual.
• Editing and adapting the content to make it trainer-friendly and accessible to target audiences.
• Integrating case studies, examples, exercises, and discussion guides where appropriate.
• Ensuring the manual is aligned with principles of gender responsiveness and climate justice.
• Producing a final version of the training manual ready for dissemination.
4. Deliverables
• Draft training manual for review.
• Final edited and formatted training manual incorporating feedback.
• A summary of key training materials (e.g., exercises, discussion points, illustrative case studies).
5. Duration
The assignment is expected to be completed within 2 weeks from the date of contract signing.
6. The consultant should possess the following qualifications and experience:
A proven track record in training manual development, preferably within the areas of gender equality, climate change, or climate justice.
Demonstrated experience in research translation and developing practical, user-friendly training materials.
Strong understanding of gender-responsive approaches to climate action and sustainability.
Excellent writing, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality, structured outputs.
Advanced degree in Gender Studies, Environmental Studies, Development Studies, or a related field will be an added advantage.
